Savage Streets Movie

The other night I was over my parents house and my brother, my friend, even my mom and I decided to watch one of my brother’s movies he just bought on DVD. Well it turned out to be a fun night a little wine and Savage Streets. Why do I love these old cheesy 80s cult movies? Linda Blair is out for revenge because a gang ends up raping her deaf sister and kills her best friend who is pregnant and is getting married. And yes men there are a lot of boob shots. My brother especially liked when Linda Blair was in the tub scene. All the songs on the soundtrack sound the same but that’s what you get with these movies. I would suggest to watch this movie if you are the type that likes these kind of movies.

Prom Night (2008)

in Movies
Well you could just say I picked some crappy horror movies to watch. I liked the original Prom Night with Jamie Lee Curtis but this was awful (Not as bad as Black Christmas). Again I didn’t waste my money so that was a good thing.
Why did you choose to do this Brittney Snow? Why does the younger crowd always feel like they need to star in an awful teen horror movie? I just don’t get it.
No gruesome scenes, bad plot, I really do not have anything more to say about this.

Black Christmas (2008)

So I decided it was cheesy horror movie night at my house. I saw Black Christmas On Demand for free. All I have to say is this was horrible. I know this is a remake and a lot of remakes are bad but this is just wrong. I didn’t see the original but now I am tempted to get it. You know what I think I will. Then I will let you know if they are both really bad or just the remake. I am glad I didn’t waste money on this, it just wasted my time. That’s why I stick to my cheesy Zombie and Vampire movies.
Wow the guy who played Billy looked like Cris Kattan. haha Now that was funny.
Did anyone like this…..comments?
The Dark Knight

Mind blowing….
I watched the Dark Knight Saturday night and I have to say amazing. Heath Ledger was pure entertainment to watch. I loved how he played the joker and how he was able to fit into the character. Just like Gary Oldman (also in the movie). Gary Oldman is one of my favorite actors because he can play any character in any role just perfect.
I recommend The Dark Knight. I wish it did break the record because I wasn’t to thrilled about Titanic (sorry to all Titanic fans). I just couldn’t get into the movie. I am also glad Maggie Gyllenhaal, who took over the role of Rachel Dawes from Katie Holmes, was in this movie. I did not want to see Katie anymore. I feel like every time Katie is on the big screen she doesn’t put much effort into her roles.

Twilight Saga

I haven’t been posting because I was trying to finish reading the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer. I flew through the first 3 books but the last one was kind of disappointing. I would have liked to seen more action and fighting in the final book. Overall it was a great series. I don’t want to give to much away for the ones reading the saga still. The reason why I picked up these books is because I love to read about vampires and other mythical creatures. I cannot wait to see how the movie turns out.
The saga is a girl named Bella Swan who moves to Forks, a small rainy town in Washington. She meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Bella’s life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Bella, the person Edward holds most dear.
The saga includes: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. They say the age range is for young adults but when I was at the store buying one of the book’s I didn’t feel so bad because I saw a woman who looked in her 60s buying the book also.
Did you read the books…if so what is your opinion?
Marley & Me Book Review
by immyowncritic on September 10, 2008
in Books, Movies

Ok so I have to say I was helping a friend out last night hooking her up to a wireless network. I didn’t have time to watch shows or movies but I did DVR my shows. I’ll watch them when I get a chance.
I am here to discuss the book I read at the beginning of the summer, Marley & Me. I love this book. It brought me back to the day when I had my first dog (he wasn’t a Lab or as crazy, haha). Now I have an 8 month old black Lab mix and he is just as crazy as Marley but I still love him. The book is about a family and the wondrously neurotic dog who taught them what really matters in life. I suggest for a good, quick and easy read to get this.
Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston are starring in the movie. I hope it is almost as good as the book but we know most books that become movies never turn out right.
Superhero Movie

Wow, all I have to say was bad. I did manage to force myself to watch this movie til the credits starting rolling but what a waste.
It’s about Rick Riker (Drake Bell) who is bitten by a radioactive dragonfly and develops super powers. The only thing is he can’t fly. Look I know I’m not a teenie bopper but I admit it I liked Drake and Josh. That was actually a funny show. I hope Drake can recover from this movie but I see his next movie is College that just came out to theaters. Wonder what Josh is doing?
Well, what did you think of this movie?
I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry Review
by immyowncritic on September 8, 2008
in Movies
I finally had a chance to watch I Now Pronounce you Chuck and Larry and I have to say it had its funny moments. I think Adam Sandler and Kevin James were a good pair and Jessica Biel looking pretty like usual. They actually brought the book “The Puupy Who Lost His Way” from Billy Madison which Miss Lippy was reading to the kindergarten class into this movie where Chuck (Adam Sandler) was reading it to Larry’s (Kevin James) kids.
But who really made this movie was Ving Rhames. When he busted out with I’m Every Woman in the shower scene after the guys drop the soap was hilarious. If you are looking to laugh a little then I would suggest this movie.

Ghostbusters 3? Could it be true….
by immyowncritic on September 5, 2008
in Movies
Variety reports that Columbia Pictures is gearing up to bring another Ghostbusters film to the big screen, hopefully featuring all four main characters from the 1984 blockbuster and its 1989 sequel—Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson.
Both ’80s-era films were cowritten by Aykroyd and Ramis and directed by Ivan Reitman.
While the project remains officially unconfirmed, the general consensus is that getting Murray to suit up after all these years will be the hard part—although the Oscar-nominated thesp deigned to contribute his Dr. Peter Venkman voice for the new Ghostbusters: The Video Game.
Dan Akroyd is on a radio station last year: “It will not happen as a live-action [movie], ’cause Billy [Murray] will not come on, in the live-action stage anymore for it,” the veteran character actor said. “But he will voice his part, and we are looking to do it as a CGI animated project.”
I don’t think it will happen with the 4 original because I can see Bill Murray not wanting to take part in it.

30 Days of Night Review
by immyowncritic on September 5, 2008
in Movies
Last night after Big Brother I finally watched 30 Days of Night. I know I’m a little behind on my movies well more then a little behind but it was free on demand. I’m going to start off by saying I like vampire, demon, etc…movies. With this movie it had its up and downs. I liked the fact the the vampires look different like something out of The Descent. Most of the story line was typical but I would have never thought Eben (Josh Hatnett) would have done what he done in the end and inject himself with their blood to become one of them.
Have to give it to Ben Foster for how he portrayed the character of The Stranger. Now he really was in character. I think he is a good actor in general.
What are your thoughts on this movie?
